This was the mood and atmosphere when Malawi’s top designer Lilly Alfonso opened the country’s first ever fashion studio, where she is doing different accessories under her LA label.
Scores of fashionistas, aficionados, socialites, members of the diplomatic community and top managers were among the people that witnessed the opening of the studio that left many of them stunned with the designer’s creatives.
From handbags, shoes to clothes of all shapes sizes for men and women, Alfonso displayed it all and all in her exquisite studio situated at Game Complex in Lilongwe.
The show came to a climax when models rocked the runway with the structured garments of many designers. Chic styles and timeless, standout shapes showed the impressive craftsmanship that went into every piece. Eye catching deep a mixture green nylon fabric with Chitenje drew attention to just the right amount of flesh. The decadent dresses would make a stunning party and dinner outfit for any woman.
Male accessories gave a modern twist on stylishly tailored suits and jackets. An open, sleeveless, boldly checked red shirt sauntered down the catwalk, concluding a fun collection.
