Chez Ntemba Malawi events manager DJ Maya confirmed the postponement and the reason behind it.

“He was nominated for Metro FM Awards and as a nominee he is supposed to attend the awards ceremony. We agreed when he asked us to shift the dates,” explained Maya.

The 15th Metro FM Music Awards are slated for tomorrow at the Inkosi Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban.

Heavy K was nominated for Best Dance Album for Respect The Drumboss, Song of the Year for Umoya and Best Collaboration for Umoya which features Professor and Mpumi.

According to a source, Chez Ntemba Malawi requested the artist to fly to Blantyre on Sunday 28 February and perform on the afternoon then return next weekend for the Lilongwe, a request the artist turned down.

“He opted to have both shows next weekend so we will proceed as agreed,” DJ Maya confirmed further while stressing that “fans should not be in doubt, Heavy K is coming it’s only the dates that have changed, they just have to hang on for few more days.”

Chez Ntemba is only selling VIP tickets for the Blantyre show and are priced at K5 000, and according to the promoters, Lilongwe will not have VIP section. Standard entry is pegged at K3 000 at both shows and fans will be paying at the door.n
