The winner of the K100 000 (about $6 000) prize in the Balaka District Presidential Cup will be decided this Sunday when Chilobwe FC take on Sport Galaxy FC.
Forty-six teams took part in the competition this year.
According to Balaka Football League (BFL) general secretary Smart Mapeleka, all is set for the finals at Balaka Stadium.
On paper, Chilobwe FC are favourites. They are reigning champions of the 2011 Andiamo Cup whereas Sport Galaxy have not football track record.
To reach the finals, Chilobwe FC beat, among others, Balaka Eagles Police and Mbera United while Sport Galaxy beat Kingstone FC, Young Soccer and Phalula Dynamos.
Said Mapeleka: “We expect the game to be exciting looking at the teams involved. Chilobwe is an experienced side. They have quality whereas Sport Galaxy are playing good and passing football.”
