BB boss hints on securing sponsorship

Despite their remarkable run for the second successive season, Big Bullets FC are still without a sponsor. However, their chairperson Sam Chilunga yesterday claimed that there could be a silver lining for the People’s Team.

“Big Bullets is a big brand no doubt about it and the results on the pitch are there for everyone to see and behind the scenes we are working out something.

“Internal squabbles damaged the reputation of the club and that is what we are building now. Trust me, we will hit the jackpot soon. Take me seriously on this,” said Chilunga in an interview yesterday.

Last season, Bullets won a double—the TNM Super League championship and the Carlsberg Cup—but were beaten on Be Forward sponsorship bid by their rivals Be Forward Wanderers.

Half way through the current season, they top the table with a six-point cushion and without a loss.

However, while rookies Fisd Wizards were able to successfully negotiate a K40 million plus sponsorship, Bullets are still hunting for one.

Bullets were last sponsored by Carlsberg Malawi Limited in 2012 alongside the Nomads to the tune of K15 million ($30 000) each before they were both left out in the cold when the company opted to sponsor the national soccer team.

The club depends on proceeds from gate takings and TNM Sapota Mapeto promotion.
