BB exco, trustees meet Nyasa management today

Thakor Sanjay and Maina Mkandawire on Saturday emerged triumphant in National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Golf Tournament at Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) where they outclassed a field of 122 golfers.

Played on medal format, Sanjay had 66 points pipping Victor Kachepatsonga who finished second on 67 points. Kachepatsonga counted out Chris Mpanga.

In his victory speech, Sanjay hailed his playing partners for creating a good atmosphere.

“It feels great to have won today. I enjoyed my golf and thank my playing partners. I also thank National Bank for hosting such a wonderful tournament,” he said.

In the ladies category, Mkandawire, who had a score of 72, beat Regina Mwanza on second position with a score of 73 points. Sawako Nevin was third with 75 points.

Mkandawire said she felt good to win the tournament as she has been a National Bank customer since 1982.

“I am a long time customer of National Bank and it is a great honour to have carried the day,” said Mkandawire in her victory speech.

National Bank deputy chief executive officer McFussy Kawawa expressed satsfaction with the golfers turn up..

“We are always appreciative of the support we get from golfers most of whom are our customers. Golf provides us a platform to update our customers on our new services and also get feedback on how they view our services,” he said.

He also appealed to the bank’s customers to embrace internet banking and avoid inconveniences such as long queues. n
