BB trustees take over running of clubhouse

Big Bullets executive committee has succumbed to the supporters and board of trustees demand to surrender the running of the team’s clubhouse to the trustees.

The running of the clubhouse was one of the thorny issues that led to the fallout between the executive committee on one hand and the main supporters committee and the trustees on the other hand.

The club’s trustees chairperson James Busile said he had a cordial meeting with the executive committee chairperson Malinda Chinyama and general secretary Higger Mkandawire over the clubhouse issue.

“They have since accepted to surrender the running of the clubhouse to the trustees,” said Busile.

He said the executive committee has also agreed to produce accounts for the team and present them to the trustees.

“As I said earlier on, all we want is for the executive committee to account for the finances.

“It is not like we want them to step down. Our concern was that the players were complaining about not getting their dues when the club received another tranche of the sponsorship from Carlsberg Malawi only a couple of weeks ago,” said Busile.

Busile also said he will brief both the main supporters committee and the trustees on the outcome of the meeting.

Mkandawire confirmed meeting Busile on the issues.
