Black Eagles in Chipiku tricky fixture

Listen to this article

Black Eagles end 2013 season today with an away fixture in the K6 million Chipiku Lilongwe and Districts Football League (LDFL) Premier Division.

The Eagles, who are in relegation zone, face fifth-placed Kasungu Police (65 points) at Kasungu Community Centre ground.

Eagles need a point to escape relegation. They are on position 18 with 42 points—one behind Alinafe Medicals.

Medicals finished on position 17, with 43 points.

A draw today will see Eagles tie with Medicals, but they have a better goal difference.

Kasungu Police are in dire need of maximum points to displace Hardknockers on position four. Knockers finished with 65 points.

“There is that relegation threat on our neck. But we have intensified training so that we should not be relegated. There is commitment from both players and coaches. We are mainly working on attacking,” said team manager Raphael Mpophiwa.
