Dancehall artist and Times TV presenter Blakjak says he takes the Lake of Stars as a platform where Malawian artists can showcase their quality to the rest of the world.

Blakjak is expected to perform and co-host the international arts festival, slated for Mangochi from September 26 to 28, with South Africa’s celebrated Channel O presenter Lungile, who early this year also hosted Big Brother Mzansi.

“I take it as the only bullet that I have. I wouldn’t afford to miss it. It presents me with a huge chance to prove that we have talent here too,” said the multi-talented Blakjak.

When asked to express how he felt to be hosting such an event with one of Africa’s top TV personalities, Blakjak laughed as he responded: “I’m a top TV personality in my country too, so it’s just like two big lions from different forests. Bottom line is, we are both lions.”

“This is like a victory to us and I will dedicate my performance to my fans who have been supporting me. I owe them and may give away a few CDs for my new album at the festival as a thank you.”

The Lake of Stars festival brings together artists and fans from across the world and some of the headliners this year are Mafikizolo from South Africa, Stanley Odd from Scotland, Zambia’s Zone Fam and from Malawi the likes of Skeffa Chimoto and Peter Mawanga.
