Twenty-two out of 52 churches under the presbytery contested in Best Sunday School Choir, drama, poems and memory verses.

Blantyre City Presbytery activities committee chairperson, Wezzie Kundwe, said the function boosts children’s morale to continue attending Sunday School at their churches.

“This is also time for the children from the 22 churches to socialise and learn a thing or two from their fellow Sunday School children,” said Kundwe, who also appealed to well-wishers to sponsor the event.

Top two choirs and drama groups received 10-metre pieces of cloth each while children who recited poems and memory verses took home hard covers, school bags, wall clocks, plates, containers, ballpoint pens and rulers. n
