Blantyre Mayor donates football uniforms to schools

Blantyre City Mayor, Noel Chalamanda has today donated sets of football uniforms to Namiwawa primary school and Chilomoni Local Education Authority (LEA)school in Blantyre City Central Ward.

Positing on his official Facebook page, Chalamanda, who is also councilor for the ward, said he bought the uniforms in China recently where he went for training.

“I was humbled to see pupils from the two schools extremely happy and excited when I presented a small gift of soccer uniforms.

“I took advantage of my visit to China for training to purchase two sets of uniforms for the two schools and it was encouraging to hear that the small gesture would make a difference,” said Chalamanda.

The Mayor also urged pupils at the two schools to not only concentrate on football, but also on their academic work.

Each school received a set of 17 jerseys which include a top, shot and pair of socks and two balls.
