Blue Eagles will on Saturday meet defending champions Lilongwe Spikers in the Wilson & Johnson Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) clash of giants at Lilongwe Community Center Court.

The game is expected to be a battle of supremacy in the region’s men’s league.

The Eagles won the inaugural Kumudzi Invitational Tournament whereas LL Spikers won the league and the Presidential Initiative on Sports national honours.

Spikers, coached by national team coach Paul Malange, will fight to avenge the 3-2 defeat that they suffered at the hands of Eagles in the finals of the Kumudzi tournament at Bunda.

CRVL chairperson Robert White said: “This will be an interesting game to watch as the teams are also among the top three in the league. Whenever the two teams meet, it is often a battle of regional supremacy at the expense of points. I urge volleyball fans to come and watch entertaining volleyball on Saturday.”

Another fixture of the men’s league to be played on the same day will be between CFC Snipers and Airwing.

In the Youth league, Lingadzi have assignments against Kami and Blue Eagles Youth whereas Malili will face CGC Snipers Youth. The last game of the day will be between Kami and Malili.
