Urges fans to send SMSs: Butao

Funny as it may sound, a Big Bullets fan became the first recipient of a top prize in their arch-rivals, Mighty Wanderers’ ‘Noma Yathu’ SMS promotion at the weekend.

Catherine Kaunda, a Mzuzu-based Bullets follower, won a plasma TV screen during the first draw of the promotion conducted at Wanderers Club.

There were consolation prizes to 20 other participants who won golf shirts and five-litre Kukoma cooking oil bottles.

Nomads general secretary Mike Butao said the development was a confirmation that the promotion is open to everybody.

According to Butao, draws will be conducted every last Friday of the month.

However, Butao claimed that as at now, they do not know how much has been generated because the agency that has been contracted to run the promotion has not yet provided them with the data.

Nomads are targeting K200 million from the promotion by February next year. Butao, therefore, urged fans to be sending SMSs through TNM network where they will be asked questions. Winners stand a chance of winning prizes which include a Vanette minibus.
