Bullets reclaim top spot in TNM Super League
FCB Nyasa Bullets yesterday beat hosts Kamuzu Barracks 2-0 at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe to reclaim the TNM Super League top spot.
Chikumbutso Salima and Babatunde Adepoju scored in the first half to ensure maximum points for the Blantyre-based People’s Team, which now has 56 points, a point above their second-placed rivals Mighty Wanderers.

Kamuzu Barracks are eighth with 35 points.
Yesterday, Salima broke the deadlock in the 13th minute with an intelligent finish from an assist by Chawangwa Gumbo.
Babatunde doubled Bullets’ lead in the 42nd minute with a powerful header following Salima’s well-curved cross.
Kamuzu Barracks came nearest to scoring in the 21nd minute when Zeliati Nkhoma had a near-miss.
Bullets started the game aggressively, making a statement of intent to win the game as with only two minutes of play, Crispin Mapemba volleyed the ball over the bar from close range.
Bullets assistant coach Gilbert Chirwa said the three points secured are crucial to their title ambitions.
“We are happy that we managed to collect full points. The boys played well as they created a lot of chances. They fought from the beginning to the end,” he said.
Kamuzu Barracks coach Nicholas Mhango said that they played well, but were just unfortunate to score.
“We had a good game plan but we could not execute it. We started well but conceded the goal early and that affected us. We played better in the second half but failed to score goals,” he said.
