Bullets stumble again

Listen to this article

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets yesterday stuttered again after drawing 0-0 against Kamuzu Barracks (KB) at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Despite creating several chances and having 10 corner kicks, the People’s Team failed to score.

However, KB were the first to threaten through a set-piece just after three minutes.

Bullets’ Aaron Lloyd fouled Zeliat Nkhoma just outside the box. Sam Gunda took the free-kick but his powerful shot was parried by Innocent Nyasulu for a corner kick.

Bullets then replied with an offensive attack in the 29th minute, but Anthony Mfune  shot wide with the goalkeeper at his mercy.

A few minutes later, Patrick Mwaungulu floated a good cross in the box, but Babatunde was not well composed as he headed the ball over the bar.

KB’s closest scoring chance came their way before recess but Gerald Chirwa missed.

After resumption, Bullets again went on rampage but goalkeeper Hastings Banda denied Babatunde an opportunity to score.

In the 63rd minutes Precious Phiri wasted a fine chance to give his side the lead when he shot over with the goal in front of him.

Bullets continued to attack and this time Mwaungulu’s clever pass found an advancing Chawanangwa Gumbo who missed.

The visitors continued to create chances and with 10 minutes to full-time Babatunde, to the dismay of Bullets fans, hit the post.

Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa could not hide his frustration after the match.

“The whole game has been us creating chances.  It’s unfortunate that we are failing to push the ball beyond the lines. In most games, we have been creating chances but we couldn’t just score. It’s unfortunate. We need to go back to the drawing board,” he said.

Kamuzu Barracks coach Charles Kamanga admitted it was a tough encounter.

“It was a very tough game. We did everything to get a positive result but it didn’t happen. It was just not our day. But I must thank my players for a good performance,” he said.

In other games, Fomo beat Moyale Barracks 2-1 at Mulanje Park and Baka City overcame Bangwe All Stars 2-0.

Following the drew, Bullets have 16 points and are 10 points adrift pf league leaders  Silver Strikers who face Civil Service today.

KB are second with 20 points from 11 games and third-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have 18 points from 10 matches.

On the plus side, you are thinking outside the box, which is great. Your writing style gets the point across, but it could use a bit more energy. The examples are decent, but adding some spice wouldn’t hurt. I’m not saying it’s bad, just that there’s room for improvement. Consider tightening up your arguments and including more compelling facts. You’ve got potential. Keep pushing yourself, and your next piece could be truly impressive. Keep at it! Your next article might just blow me away. Or maybe not. We’ll see.
