Big Bullets FC have slapped its main supporters committee chairperson Isaac Jomo Osman with an indefinite suspension for what they say is gross indiscipline.

However, Osman yesterday described the suspension as a ploy by the club’s general secretary Harold Fote to silence him.

According to the suspension letter dated June 11 2014, signed by club chairperson Kondi Msungama and his first deputy Sadik Malinga, during his suspension, Osman will not be allowed to make any decision or take any action as head of the club’s main supporters committee.

“Further to the disciplinary hearing against you which was held on Thursday 29th May 2014 at Big Bullets Football Club House, it has been decided by the board that you be suspended from your post of chairman for Big Bullets Football Club Supporters Committee.

“The board has decided to suspend you on the same grounds for which you were summoned to the above mentioned disciplinary hearing pending the board’s final decision on the matter. The board expects your utmost cooperation in this matter,” reads part of the letter.

The letter went on to state that the executive committee noted with dismay Osman’s unbecoming conduct at the said disciplinary hearing where he dressed down members of the disciplinary committee.

According to earlier communication from the club’s executive committee, Osman was, among other things, charged with threatening insulting and swearing at his deputy Bruce Tambwali and interfering with the treasurer’s work.

Osman was accused of snatching money belonging to the club from Tambwali on May 11 2014 at Kamuzu Stadium and a week later on May 18 at Zomba Community ground.

And in an interview yesterday morning, Msungama said: “Osman was growing too big for his shoes. He thought he was untouchable and the disciplinary cases against him were piling up.”

Msungama cited the brawl that Osman had with his former Mighty Wanderers counterpart Yona Malunga at Wanderers Club and the chasing of Fischer Kondowe from training as other outstanding cases.

However, Osman said he was not amused with the development.

“At first it was an issue to do with politics and when I lost the elections for the position of councillor they had to find another way of getting rid of me and this is it.

But Fote laughed off Osman’s claims.
