Bullets worried with performance

Listen to this article

FCB Nyasa Bullets say they are worried with the team’s performance, but are not pressing the panic buttons yet.

The reigning TNM Super League champions are winless in four league games, culminating in Saturday’s goalless draw against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

They are fifth with 16 points from 11 matches, having won three, drawn seven and lost once.

In an interview, the People’s Team chief administration officer Albert Chigoga said: “The situation is worrying, but we would like to remain positive.

Pasuwa: The boys are down

“We are optimistic that things will not remain the same and we will turn the corner.”

In a post-match interview on Saturday, Bullets gaffer Kallisto Pasuwa, who guided the team to a clean sweep last season, also acknowledged the team’s struggles.

He said: “Psychologically the boys are down and I have to keep on talking to them because it seems for every game we are playing, the best result we are getting is a draw.

“We are doing everything, but we are failing to put the ball beyond the line.”

On what the result means in the quest to defend the title, Pasuwa said: “The number of draws we are having is too much, we need to push up.”

Bullets last won against Mzuzu City Hammers 2-0 on May 19 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. This means they did not register a win in the entire month of June.
