Calvary Kids Choir launches Our Father

Lilongwe-based gospel music outfit, Calvary Kids Choir will launch their debut album Our Father today at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.

Group matron Maggie Jere said in an interview on Thursday that the album launch is the culmination of the dedication the group has shown in uplifting their budding talent and serving the Lord.

“Since the formation of the group in 2006, we have witnessed the spiritual growth and the maturity of the talent that the kids possess. We are pleased that all that hard work has come to this,” she said.

Jere said a number of activities have been lined up to spice up the launch, including a live performance of kids aged between three and 10.

Ndirande Anglican Voices, Steve Wazisomo Muliya, Joshua Generations, Lloyd Phiri and the Happiness Voices, Kaning’a CCAP Choir and Heaven Ambassador Kids will spice up the ocassion.

The matron said the presence of other gospel artists has been designed to motivate the youthful group.

She said: “The objective of the event is to promote young talent. The groups we have invited have been around for

so long and their presence will encourage them to aim high.”

Ndirande Anglican Voices leader Denis Kalimbe said it is encouraging that some people saw the importance of putting together the group.

“Some of us started at a young age. We believe our presence will inspire them. We have such kid groups abroad and it serves our country better to have them as well,” he said.

The album has been recorded at One Heart Studio and Ituma Records.
