Caps coach tips Big Bullets

Caps United assistant coach Brenna Msiska has advised Big Bullets to adopt a ruthless scoring approach if they are to soldier on in the 2015 CAF Champions League campaign.

Msiska, speaking after Caps’ 1-2 loss to Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium on Wednesday, suggested that Bullets could be riding on refereeing decisions too much.

“The BB are playing well. They are capable of winning on their own and they must not ride on the assistance of the referee. If they play like this in the Champions League, it will be disastrous. When they create chances, they must put them away,” said the Zimbabwean whose parents are originally from Malawi.

The goalkeeper coach Msiska cited Chiukepo Msowoya’s last-gasp winning goal and a red card to Caps’ Malawian defender George Nyirenda as being dubious and might deceive Bullets into thinking they are strong.

Yamikani Fodya, Mussa Manyenje and Msowoya (two more chances) had clear-cut scoring opportunities which they did not put away. Bullets travel to Sudan next week for a Champions League first-round, first leg against Al Hilal.

However, Bullets coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan said Bullets’ Champions League credentials must not be undermined as they are not ‘Malawi champions for nothing’ and that they are not in the Africa football safari to make numbers “but to compete and win”.

“The win was a morale booster, but we still need more friendlies,” said Ramadhan.
