CCL darts team homeless

Blantyre and Districts Darts League (BDDL) giants, until recently known as Elvis Freight Country Club Limbe, are now homeless following the end of their association with the historical recreation facility.

The darts team has since changed its name to Elvis Freight, the team’s general secretary and captain Chipiliro Mzanda confirmed on Wednesday.

“As I am sending you this e-mail, we have decided to immediately change our name from Elvis Freight CCL to Elvis Freight darts team until we finalise our discussions with our new host,” said Mzanda.

“So far, we have had a good response from those wishing to host the team, but there is also need to seriously look at the status of the team which should befit its performance.”

Mzanda hinted on the prospect of the club relocating to the College of Medicine’s Sports Complex as “negotiations are under way.”

The association of CCL and darts dates back to 1950. The news of the Limbe darts side being homeless has been talk of the Southern Region darts fraternity with Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) officials urging the team to find a lasting solution to its challenges.
