CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB) has donated K2 million to the Malawi Orthopaedics Association to support the organisation of the 2023 Scientific Conference from September 21 to 23 in Dowa District.

Speaking during the cheque presentation in Blantyre on Thursday, CDHIB chief business development officer Jamal Kamoto said the bank’s sponsorship is one way of appreciating the role the association plays in the health sector.

“We are confident that the deliberations at the conference will help participants to brainstorm on how to manage trauma better, showcase the various expertise and draft strategic plans to enhance our healthcare systems,” he said.

Speaking after receiving the donation, Malawi Orthopaedics Association president Maureen Sabawo said the orthopaedics sector lacks skilled staff, equipment and trauma registry despite the heavy burden the sector has to bear.
