The Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) has suspended Mdzodzo from the 2012 season for failing to pay a fine.
Cezobal vice-chairperson Barlett Mafuleka said Mdzodzo failed to pay a fine of K20 000 (about $67) after they accumulated three forfeits.
“We have chopped the team from the league after they failed to pay the fine. They will be relegated to the B league next year. Only three players will be allowed to leave the team for teams which will be in the top league as per the 2012 Cezobal rules and regulations,†said Mafuleka.
Mdzodzo is the third team to face the league’s wrath this season, the others are Trojan Ladies and NRC Cheetahs.
