Former Be Forward talisman Jaffalie Chande’s revival drive is on track as he leads the Chipiku Stores Central Region Football League Premier Division scorers’ chart  with seven goals.

The striker is trying to relaunch his career at his home side Mitundu Strikers who are fifth with 10 points from five matches.

The striker, who twice dumped the Nomads last season, was not available for comment yesterday.

Chande is the leading scorer with seven goals

League leaders Dedza Dynamos still top the 22-team log table despite being held to a goalless draw by Kasungu Police on Saturday.

A win for Dynamos could have seen them creating a four-point gap at the top over second-placed Mafco FC who were on bye.

Dynamos have 15 points from seven games while Mafco trail by two points from five games.

Dynamos team manager Masauko Kalamula described the result as a setback.

“It was a good game and we created a lot of scoring chances, but we just didn’t have luck. The referee also denied us two clear penalties.”

“The result is a setback because had we won, it could have done us good knowing that Mafco have two games in hand, but it happens,” he said.

In other games, Mtsiliza United and Mchinji Boma Stars registered 2-1 wins over Mitundu Strikers and Silver Strikers Reserves, respectively.

Ngolowindo FC drew 1-1 with Wimbe United while Jidi FC shared the spoils with Chitedze Strikers following a goalless draw.

Silver Reserves are third with 12 points from seven games. They are tied with Mbavi United, who however, have an inferior goal difference and have played two games less. Wimbe United anchor the table with a point from five matches.
