Changing dynamics in the music industry has forced  many artists to embrace new ways to survive. The latest to join the growing gig is veteran musician Dan Chazama.

The artist has started selling his music on local online platforms after listing his new single Munditeteze on Goluso.com and Nyasa music platforms.

“Things are changing every day. As an artist I realised I need to adapt to meet the needs of my fans in terms of the quality of the music I produce and how they can access it. The online platform is one trusted way of selling music now,” he said.

Chazama: This is one trusted way of selling music

The musician said although local music fans have not fully embraced the online market, he is impressed with the response he has received so far.

Chazama’s latest composition retains a spiritual theme. In Munditeteze, the protagonist is asking for God’s protection from danger caused by fellow human beings.

“Previously we thought man’s biggest danger was animals and diseases. But human beings are now subjecting each other to untold misery. It is in this vein that we are pleading for God’s protection.”

Munditeteze is been produced by Viwe Chibwana at CL Studios in Area 25, Lilongwe.

The producer said: “Dan is one of the artists who are ready to make sacrifices for their survival. Despite his long stint in the industry, he still finds space to accommodate our ideas during production. That is one thing which separates him from other artists.”
