Chidale, Mukwenha, Yadav triumph in FMB and LFC golf
Blantyre-based golfers Paul Chidale and Margaret Mukwenha proved their supremacy in the FMB and Leasing and Finance Company (LFC) Three Course Annual Golf Bonanza Open Tournament in Blantyre.
The event was conducted on Saturday at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) and also in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
Chidale had a handicap of four, scored 18 points front and 22 points back to bang 40 points to emerge the winner in the men’s category.
Fifty-eight golfers competed at BSC.
In the ladies category, Mukwehna had a handicap of 24, scored 17 front and 24 back amassing 41 points.
Mzuzu Golf Club, Ruth Mvula was the only female golfer who participated in the bonanza.
She competed herself amid 23 male golfers that showed up.
Youthful, 18-year-old golfer Sunny Yadav outclassed a 22-strongfield to win the championship crown in the men’s category.
Competition’s committee chairperson Thomas Malopa bemoaned the shortage of female golfers, saying it did not reflect the full status of the tournament.
