Ministry of Health will from today to Friday this week conduct the ‘Child Health Days’ campaign that will focus on provision of vitamin A supplementation and de-worming tablets.

The ministry’s chief of health services Charles Mwansambo said the campaign will also disseminate information on infant and young child feeding, use of insecticide-treated nets and general hygiene.

He said there is need for collective efforts as well as continued collaboration and commitment from all Malawians to promote good health of children in the country.

“Children receive vitamin A supplements to boost immunity while de-worming tablets treat parasitic infections,” said Mwansambo.

The Child Health Days campaign was introduced as a health-promoting strategy, initiated in Eastern and Southern Africa to deliver package-free medical supplies to all eligible children and their mothers in the most under-served areas.
