Nyasa Big Bullets striker Chiukepo Msowoya is expected to undergo a late fitness test before the TNM Super League champions face Red Lions at Balaka Stadium on Sunday.

Msowoya missed the opener against Moyale Barracks due to a calf injury he sustained during training.

The 2015 Player of the Season said it was agonising to see his side draw against Moyale Barracks last Saturday, but applauded his teammates for a gallant fight.

“We were just unlucky not to win that match,” said Msowoya.

The player’s return is a boost for coach Franco Ndawa who said he missed the services of the bulky striker “very much”.

Technical director Billy Tewesa said chances of the player featuring against Red Lions are 50-50.

“We will have a clear picture by Saturday,” said Tewesa.
