Churches launch Malawi Without Orphans
Fourteen churches in the country have launched a movement called Malawi Without Orphans to support orphans and vulnerable children in the country.
Speaking during the launch in Mzuzu at the weekend, coordinator of the initiative, Reverend Amon Moyo, who is also the country’s representative for Together Africa Without Orphans (Tawo), said churches have a duty to support orphans and vulnerable children.
“The church must encourage its members to take a leading role in caring for vulnerable people and orphans in the society,” said Moyo.
The initiative has been hailed by Mzimba District social welfare officer Grace Mvula.
