The TNM Super League break could be a welcome interruption for the Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Premier Division.

The battle for the driving seat of the 20-member second level division continues as leaders Chikhwawa United travel to the BAT ground on Saturday for a meeting with unpredictable BNC Produsak.

Riding on a wave of a nine-game unbeaten stretch and with 25 points, Chikhwawa need to beat the Thango Chauma-coached BNC, lest the leaders be dethroned by second-placed Cobbe.

Three points separate the number one from the number two but Cobbe will play two games against White Bullets in Mwanza then Green Hawks on Sunday.

A draw let alone a loss for Chikhwawa will see Cobbe jumping to the top if they can manage to negotiate their way past Bullets and Hawks.

Cobbe are on paper looking like the real deal meshing youth with experience such as goalkeeper Charles Njirima and Luke Zaire Muyaba whose career has gone full circle having played in the Super League then Flames then back to the lower league where he is hoping for a fresh start.
