Coca-Cola takes Copa fever to townships
Coca-Cola will from Friday invade townships in Blantyre as well as Mulanje and Zomba on Saturday with storming activities on the sidelines of the Copa Coca-Cola divisional championships.
Blantyre will host the South West Education Division finals at the Blantyre Youth Centre on Friday and Saturday, Mulanje will host the Shire Highlands Education Division finals at Mulanje Boma Park on Saturday while Zomba will host the South East Education Division finals on Saturday and Sunday.
According to Carlsberg Malawi senior brands manager non-alcoholics Brenda Chilima, the stormings are aimed at attracting audiences to the games.
“During storming the teams will be giving out tickets to the Under-17s to come and collect free drinks at the venue as a way of sampling and attracting audience to the games.
“We invite the would be audience to both the games and the road shows in the morning. In the afternoon the teams will do activations in which the audience will participate on stage games such as shoot and score, Coke song composition and drinking competitions,” said Chilima.
In Blantyre, the storming will be done in Mbayani, Manase, Chilobwe, Zingwangwa, Manja and Nkolokosa townships Friday and on Saturday they will be in Bangwe, Ndirande, Chirimba, Mbayani and Zingwangwa townships with BYC set for activation.
In Zomba, the storming will be done in Naisi, Chikanda, Mpondabwino, Chinamwali, Ndege on Saturday and Zomba City Centre, Matawale, Ndola, Masongola and Mpondabwino on Sunday.
In Mulanje, the storming will go through Lourdadale, Muloza, Chitakale and Mulanje Boma whereas activation will be done at Mulanje Boma Park.
The activities will also be held in Mzuzu, Kasungu and Lilongwe next weekend during the finals of the Northern Education Division, Central East Education Division and Central West Education Division respectively.
