Court legalising illegality?

In May 2012, the National Assembly passed a law that saw Malawi reverting to its independence flag, with members of Parliament (MPs) saying the change of the National Flag in 2010 was unforgivable and an attack on the country’s sense of nationhood. The black, red and green flag with a rising sun on the black background was restored 22 months after it was brought down in favour of the red, black and green one with a full sun in white which the then Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration led by former president the late Bingu wa Mutharika said symbolised unprecedented development. However, three years after the independence flag was restored, the High Court in Zomba is still using the illegal flag as seen in this picture taken during an adjournment in the hearing of the case of businessperson and politician Oswald Lutepo (back to camera).
