The Central Region Pool League (CRPL) has reduced club affiliation fee for the 2012 season by 25 percent.

The league agreed on the reduction at its pre-season meeting held at Chesterfield in Area 18B on Saturday.

CRPL chairperson Robert Gama confirmed the development to The Nation, saying they have reduced the affiliation fee from K20 000 ($119) to K15 000 ($90).

“Most of the teams are self-sponsored and affiliation fees come from players’ contributions; hence, the decision to reduce the figure,” said Gama.

Umqombothi vice-general secretary Nelson Chidiwa has hailed the league for the consideration.

Meanwhile, the league has organised a three–week pre-season tournament that will start on Saturday.

The draw will be held tomorrow from 6pm at Zhux Pub (Top Level Club) in Area 3.

Registration fee for the pre-season tournament is K12 000 ($71) per team.
