Central Region Pool League (CRPL) has increased registration fee for 2014 season by 50 percent.

League chairperson Franco Banda confirmed the development on Thursday, saying teams will now pay K30 000 (about $78) up from K20 000 (about $52).

He said the teams agreed on the increment at a recent CRPL annual general meeting (AGM) held at Civo clubhouse.

Banda said registration, which is underway, will close today while the league commences on July 26.

“We are in dire need of sponsorship and we are asking the corporate world to come forward to support our league,” he said.

In a related development, Mgwalangwa Pool Club has organised a two- day Individuals Pool Singles at Kanengo today.

Orgainsing secretary Ben Kaukonde said registration fee is K1 000 per player.

The champion will receive K25 000 (about $65) whereas the runner-up and third-best players will receive K15 000 ($40) and K10 000 ($26) respectively.
