Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) today (Saturday) hosts a volleyball tournament at Kumudzi Eco Learning Centre along Bunda College Road in Lilongwe.
According to the league’s acting general secretary Trust Mtegha, the tournament sponsored at K200 000, will have both men and ladies categories.
“It will be exciting as teams have been preparing from last month. Some secondary schools like St. Johns and Bwaila will also participate. Teams from Mchinji and Salima will also take part,” said Mtegha.
The tournament has been sponsored by Deputy Minister of Defence Jappie Mhango, who is Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) president.
In Men’s category A, the champions will get K50 000 while runners-up and third-placed team will receive K30 000 and K20 000 respectively.
In category B, the champions and runners-up will get K25 000 and K15 000 respectively. Third-place team will get K10 000.
In ladies category, the winner will walk away with K25 000 while runners-up and third-place team will collect K15 000 and K10 000 respectively.
