CRVL tourney goes into finals today

The K200 000 Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) finals will be played today at Lilongwe Community Centre court, in all the three categories.
According to the league’s acting general secretary Trust Mtegha, in men’s A category, Kamuzu Barracks (KB) face Blue Eagles in battle for K50 000 ultimate prize.

This will be a repeat of 2014 when the two sides met in the National Championship finals in Mzuzu, where the soldiers emerged champions.
In men’s B category, KB Youth tussle with Prison United, at stake is K25 000 winner’s prize while in ladies category, Blue Eagles Ladies take on Snipers.
The winner will walk away with K25 000 while runners-up will get K15 000.
Lilongwe Spikers won the third-place last week after beating Don Bosco 3-0 in men’s A category.
Spikers went away with K20 000 while in B category, Blue Eagles Youth beat Grace Spikers 3-1. They got K10 000.
In the ladies’ category, Natural Resources College (NRC) won the third-place following a 3-1 victory over Bunda College.
“We are calling on all sports lovers, in particular volleyball fans, to watch what is expected to be a thrilling finale.
“We also thank the teams and fans for the discipline and sportsmanship they have demonstrated during this period,” said Mtegha.
