Daliso at Crossroads

This is the day. UK-based stand-up comedian Dalitso Chaponda kicks off his third homecoming with a performance to be curtain-raised by comic musician Scott Gray, who owns Kumbali Lodge.

The funny man and the owner of the local nest of US pop star Madonna will share the stage at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe to mark the unveiling of the Anti-social Commentator tour which goes to Blantyre tomorrow night.

Daliso said in a statement issued by the tour’s spokesperson Norah Chavula that time is ripe to bring smiles and laughter on the faces of his fans who have missed him since the Laughrica act last year.

“It will be a bigger show. I’ll cross more boundaries and ask more questions and in the midst of all that, have you laughing so hard,” Daliso is quoted as saying in the statement.

Famed for his comic versatility, Daliso, also an established writer, has performed for diverse audiences across the world ranging from youth, religious communities, corporate entities and the general public.

After the two shows, he will perform Laughrica in Zimbabwe and Canada.

The Antisocial Commentator will be his third show in the country following performances at the now closed Umunthu Theatre in 2009 and Crossroad’s Hotel last year.

Both shows, worth K3 000 at the door, will start at 7.30pm.
