Musicians Dan Lu and Piksy have diversified in the arts by starting their own comedy series. The clips, that range from two to five minutes, have the two as leading actors with one having rapper Young Kay as a guest artist.

In an interview with On the Arts, Dan Lu said the idea came about as they were travelling back to Blantyre after a performance in Lilongwe.

“Piksy and I are good friends and we usually crack jokes. So, we noticed that people that around were having a good time, that is when we thought of shooting the clips,” said Dan Lu.

The artist said the clips, which are usually shared on social networks, through YouTube, are not for sale although the duo is looking for sponsors.

On his part, Piksy said they were approached by some people who had watched the clips and encouraged them to pitch the idea for a television show.

“In future, we might offer different products through the clips because that’s what musicians in other countries do,” said the Unamata hit-maker.

The artists said he eyes movie acting and said the clips might be a platform that will expose him.

Piksy said they shot the clips using their own camera, but he said they will involve professional videographers once they start making money out of their new found trade.
