If I were

Tourism and Culture Minister, I would not claim in Parliament that the tourism sector stands to grow because fuel situation has improved.

If I were Liwimbi, I would appreciate that at the time I was presenting the statement, motorists were, in fact, queuing for fuel at various service stations nationwide.

If I were bwanaLiwimbi, I would realise that what I presented in the august House was outdated information because as of last week, the country was experiencing erratic supplies of fuel to the effect of forcing some vendors to take advantage of the situation and sell the product at twice the official price.

Yes, while it is possible that my statement was prepared before the erratic supply of fuel resurfaced, I would realise the need to be on top of things so as not to present outdated information.

If only I were Hon. Liwimbi, I would realise that while I was preparing the statement at my ministerial home on that particular morning, most service stations were dry thereby, contradicting my claim that the fuel situation had improved.

If I were Hon. Liwimbi, I would admit that I goofed on that one, oh yes!

That is, of course. if only I were Liwimbi. Unfortunately, I am not him!
