Davie Banda recovers from injury
Midfielder Dave Banda has recovered from a foot injury he sustained on Saturday when his Black Leopards exited the CAF Confederations Cup. Black Leopards were held to a goalless draw by Sudanese side Al Merreikh at South Africa’s Ellis Park Stadium.
The Sudanese side progressed to the next stage having won the first game 2-3 a fortnight ago against Leopards whose key players are Banda and defender Harry Nyirenda.
On Saturday, Leopards were forced into a change on the half-hour mark when David Zulu replaced Banda who appeared to be struggling with the injury after he received a bad tackle earlier in the match.
In a telephone interview, the former Red Lions player, who is also the Flames midfield hub, insisted that the injury was not severe.
“My foot was swollen after a bad tackle, but I have since resumed training. There is no cause for concern,” Banda said on Tuesday.
