DHL Express brings ex-Man U star

DHL Express will, in its capacity as Manchester United logistics and training kit sponsor, bring to Malawi the English Premier League giants’ former utility player Quinton Fortune on Wednesday.

In a statement, DHL Malawi commercial manager Grace Chirwa said the company will host the South African Fortune at Protea Ryalls in Blantyre for a cocktail party.

“Joining Quinton is local assistant coach Young Chimodzi. Here is your chance to get to know both players and find out what has made them, and their teams, a success,” said Chirwa.

Fortune, will in addition to sharing his Manchester United success story, be expected to sign autographs and memorabilia. It is estimated that the Red Devils have 333 million supporters, 43 million of which are in Africa.

In another press release, DHL Express Malawi country manager Stalin Tauya said Fortune’s visit provides a unique opportunity to showcase DHL’s involvement with Manchester United to its key customers and staff locally.

Fortune is among a few Africans to have played for the Red Devils.

A free agent, Fortune recently told international press that he fancied playing for a South African side.
