The champions received a trophy, cooler box, two-plate cooker, six kilogramme cylinder with gas and a trophy.

In his victory speech, Douds expressed delight to have won a major tournament this year.

“It was tough out there. Competition was tight and I am excited to have won today,” he said.

He then thanked sponsors Afrox for the golf and Kasasa Golf Club for hosting the event.

Afrox managing director Boniface Chima thanked the golfers for the huge patronage.

“We organised this golf for our customers here in the Central Region, and Dwangwa in particular, but some of you have come from as far as Blantyre, Mzuzu,  Lilongwe and Kasungu just to take part in this golf. We don’t take that for granted and we thank you, “ he said.

“The golf was organised to bring our customers together so that we can interact and build the business together through the sharing of ideas as we play golf. The tournament was also organised to promote Handigas cooker, “ said Chima.

Kasasa Golf Club captain Chrispin Chikwama thanked Afrox for hosting the tournament.

“This is our first big tournament this year and we thank you for considering Dwangwa.  I also have to thank golfers for patronising the golf.  We feel honoured as a club,” he said. n
