Drivers association to appoint trustees
Drivers in Malawi have formed an association with its headquarters in Zomba.
According to the association’s chairperson Harrystone Banda, the aim is to become a drivers’ mouthpiece on employment and other issues affecting drivers in their profession.
Banda said for the association to run better, it needs skillful leaders.
“Next month, in September, we will unveil our trustees at a meeting scheduled for Zomba.
“The association will enhance the welfare of drivers and provide legal aid and defensive driving skills, among others, to boost the confidence of drivers, said Banda.
One of the registered trustees of the association, Harvey Mjojo, encouraged drivers to join the association.
“We urge drivers to join the association because it will help them do their work with relative ease, joy and efficiency,” he said.
