TLC Entertainment, DStv channel 172, is launching a reality show, Next Great Presenter, the channel’s campaign to find its first African presenter.
The campaign kick offs on August 9 and the channel is calling for all its super-fans from across Africa who believe they have what it takes to be the next Buddy, Oprah or Randy and crowned TLC’s Next Great Presenter.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch date for this fantastic campaign, which will see one lucky winner get the chance to present a brand new show on TLC. We know how vocal our TLC fans are and I’m certain we’ll get a tremendous response when the competition officially opens on August 9 and look forward to receiving all the brilliant entries,” said Lee Hobbs of TLC in a statement.
The search for TLC’s Next Great Presenter will begin with the channel asking viewers to submit video clips of their presenting skills explaining why they should be chosen.
Later, a panel of experts will whittle down a shortlist, but it will be up to the TLC viewers to choose the lucky winner. The winner will get the chance to present TLC Top 10—a brand new series coming to the channel later this year, which celebrates the biggest and most popular shows that broadcast on the channel since it launched in Africa in 2011.
Further details as to how to enter TLC’s Next Great Presenter competition will be announced closer to the launch date.
