E-Wallet organisers are this Sunday expected to converge in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre, to choose a host of the national launch on September 29 and eviction shows from October 6.

The launch will take place at Sunbird Capital in Lilongwe while the first eviction show will take place at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre.

Dozens of youngsters have registered for the audition.

E-Wallet Project coordinator Anthony Kafuwa said the event is one of the activities ahead of the national launch.

“The presenter will be chosen through auditions. We are looking at those between the ages of 25 and 35,” said Kafuwa.

He said results of the auditions will be announced next week to allow the identified person to start working closely with the E-Wallet team. Last month, 26 contestants were shortlisted.

The 26 finalists to national auditions are in the process of undergoing intensive training from well trained choreographers, musicians and dancers to equip them.

Kafuwa added that footage of the whole auditions in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre was being beamed on MBC TV from September 1 2012.
