Football Association of Malawi (FAM) will hold its extra ordinary general meeting (EGM) on February 20 at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre.

The assembly is expected to deliberate on other agenda items which were not discussed during the elective general assembly that took place on December 12 2015 at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.

The ill-fated Nkopola assembly only conducted elections, but failed to deliberate on the agendas following a court injunction that was obtained by some aspiring candidates.

A statement from FAM secretariat states that the executive committee meeting held last Sunday came up with the resolution to hold the EGM at Chiwembe.

“The meeting resolved that once the financial statements were approved by the EGM, the financial statements will be published on FAM website and copies will be distributed to key stakeholders such government and football sponsors,” the statement signed by general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda reads in part.

The executive committee meeting has since referred to the Disciplinary Committee the injunction matter.

“It is expected that the disciplinary team will hear the matter after the extra ordinary general assembly in February 2016,” Nyirenda said.

The EGM will, among other issues,     approve the new members of the FAM’s judicial organs which include; the disciplinary, appeals, ethics committees and arbitration tribunal. n
