Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has fired some junior members of the Flames coaching panel, The Nation has learnt.

The development follows a meeting which the association’s technical subcommittee held in Lilongwe recently.

While confirming the development, the committee’s head Moses Mkandawire, who is also FAM first vice-president, kept a tight lid on the names.

“I can confirm that we have made changes in the Flames technical panel in an attempt to add value to the set-up, but I cannot disclose names of the affected members until we communicate to them.

“We also need to get in touch with those that have been drafted into the panel,” said Mkandawire.

He, however, said the process will be done between now and December and the new line-up will be announced in January.

Junior members of the Flames technical committee work on temporary basis and comprise team manager Stuart Mbolembole, goalkeeper trainer McHodges Chunga and team doctor Matthews Mangondo. The senior members are head coach Kinnah Phiri, his deputy Young Chimodzi and technical adviser Jack Chamangwana.
