First Lady leads Blantyre clean-up

getrude-mutharikaFirst Lady Gertrude Mutharika at the weekend supported Blantyre City mayor Noel Chalamanda’s Keep Blantyre Clean and Green initiative by taking part in a clean-up exercise at Kachere Township along the Limbe-Zomba Road. The First Lady was joined by Chalamanda, Vice-President Saulos Chilima’s spouse, Mary and several citizens of the city in the exercise.   1. The idea of cleaning malawi is fantastic. What I find puzzling is why when the top notches wear white coats and have mouth protection when they do the cleaning. As far as I can recallect I dont think our manucipality workers are dressed protectively like this when they go to work. Is there something missing here?

    The idea is great and I support it but be consistent and make sure that the people who do this work are protected when they do it!
