Flames coaches to know targets this weekend

Flames head coach Young Chimodzi and his lieutenant Jack Chamangwana might this weekend learn about their 2015 Cosafa Cup and Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) targets.

Such targets could determine the direction of the contracts of the coaches, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu said about the one-year deals which end this July.

Flames-warm-up“The last three months will be the critical stage on which negotiations could be determined. We are meeting to finalise camping arrangements, style of play for home and away matches for Afcon,” explained Nyamilandu.

The Flames return to the Cosafa Cup, which kicks-off this May 17, when facing neighbours Mozambique’s Mambas in South Africa on May 24 in the quarter-final.

In Afcon, the Flames then host Zimbabwe mid-June in the opening match for Afcon qualifiers in Group L, which comprise Guinea and Swaziland.

Chimodzi yesterday confirmed the meeting while hoping for more appreciation from FAM technical sub-committee over the importance of adequate friendlies.
