Listen to this article

The Malawi National Football Team, Flames have moved 10 places up the Fifa rankings to 98 from 108 in July.

The news is likely to be an energiser for new coach Ernest Mtawali and his assistant Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan.

The Flames are scheduled to engage Swaziland’s Sihlangu on September 4 away in Mbabane in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and Mtawali told The Nation on Wednesday that he will prefer one week training camp for the team.

The development would be a departure from the normal trend whereby the Flames usually camp for two weeks or more.
