FMB knockout cricket enters second week

The K1 million FMB Knockout Cricket Tournament will enter second week this Sunday, when at least eight social teams are expected to know their fate at Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) and Oriental Cricket Club (OCC).

According to MSC sports director and executive committee member Abdul Wahab Jagot, Polypack will take on Xerographics at OCC in the morning while the afternoon encounter will be between Kukoma and Mapeto DWSM.

At MSC, a rematch between Anchor and OG Issa will precede a fixture between Siku and Gold Fattani. The Anchor versus OG Issa match was shifted from last Sunday due to rain showers.

This means four teams are expected to drop out of the championship by the end of the Sunday games.

“We are satisfied with the progress so far and we hope the teams that are playing this weekend will put up a gallant fight to make it into the next round,” said Jagot.

The competition has embraced eight teams from MSC and one from OCC. Finals will take place at MSC on November 30.
