The deceased have been identified as Yohane Davison (12), Labani Raphael (6) and Evason Raphael (12) from Kaphuka Village, Traditional Authority Nthondo in the district.

M’bumpha said the family cooked the beans and ate them for supper.

He said Labani Raphael was the formulating a second to die before the other 17 victims were referred to Ntchisi District Hospital.

M’bumpha said Evason Raphael died yesterday.

He said police are still investigating the matter.
